![]() ![]() To discover ‘the pathless land’ you may feel the inspiration of K and use him as a reference as you yourself progress on your own journey of exploration. It is one thing to read about K’s ‘Pathless Land’ which is a certain state of consciousness BUT it is quite another thing to discover and live in that state which is, by the way -normal human consciousness. BUT in the end it all comes down to this and I quote K, “To discover anything new you must start on your own, you must start on a journey completely denuded, especially of knowledge.a man who is protecting himself constantly through knowledge is not a truth seeker.” they are so difficult to understand and translate into personal action. Like so many readers of K we become wrapped up in his beautiful talks. * as well as many who read his books today. The above describes the state of many who sat in front of K all those years ago listening to his monologues* and his attempts to bring them along with him to his reality. And K only found one other thing in existence: Observation This tendency for the mind to piece things into a perspective is the beginning of what K calls “conditioning”. but this is not reality, reality is just your experience, did you see the experience of that thought occuring? To follow the path is to take the illusions of that thought and believe it to be reality. If you pay close attention, you might notice your mind beginning to make connections with my words. You are forming a path in your mind after reading what i have just wrote. But he is just a man who is able to witness his experience for the illusion that it is. This entire witnessing of thought birth-life-death of thought is what made K special. I believe the witnessing of the germination (beginning) of thought is also an experience not many people have put attention towards. (as it seems, part of the nature of thought is to end). Part of this experience is the witnessing of thought ending. K was in the buisness of observing this action, or as he called it, this movement. The secret may be out!: thought forms our world instantly. It becomes evident how wishy-washy these “paths” are after witnessing them disappear. “If you would attain to the mountain-topĪfter watching thought occur (to its inevitable demise), this is my description. After awhile ‘it’ gets tired of all of this and wants none of it BUT ‘thought’ is addicted/conditioned/destined to perpetuate its own existence and so ‘it’ is trapped in a matrix of thought and there is nothing ‘it’ can do to escape this -ceaseless activity of the mind- (Powell) “Truth cannot be brought down, rather theĪND in not escaping the activity of the mind, in not doing anything!!! -the activity of the mind embraces the self, the observer becomes the observed and we find our freedom in the Truth of ‘what is’ / in the Truth of no duality / in the Truth of here-now. In duality ‘the self’ is numero uno of all it surveys. The self has no purpose -it has been frozen out of existence. In this reality there is ‘nowhere’ to go. This land is pathless because it exists in the dimensionless ’now-here’. The Truth K is speaking of only exists in the land of no duality / a land beyond definition. “I maintain that Truth is a pathless land,Īnd you cannot approach it by any path.” If you would attain to the mountain-top you must pass through the valley, climb the steeps, unafraid of the dangerous precipices. You cannot bring the mountain-top to the valley. Truth cannot be brought down, rather the individual must make the effort to ascend to it. Truth is narrowed down and made a plaything for those who are weak, for those who are only momentarily discontented. ![]() This is what everyone throughout the world is attempting to do. If you do, it becomes dead, crystallized it becomes a creed, a sect, a religion, to be imposed on others. A belief is purely an individual matter, and you cannot and must not organize it. If you first understand that, then you will see how impossible it is to organize a belief. Truth, being limitless, unconditioned, unapproachable by any path whatsoever, cannot be organized nor should any organization be formed to lead or to coerce people along any particular path. That is my point of view, and I adhere to that absolutely and unconditionally. I maintain that Truth is a pathless land, and you cannot approach it by any path whatsoever, by any religion, by any sect. Yes it is from a famous speech of his called "Dissolution speech of the Order of the Star in The East" here is the whole section where he goes into it from that speech. ![]()
