![]() ![]() CP has a lot more nostalgia with all of the new collectors than the dud sets of modern vintage when popularity was really low too. You don't think people ever had doubts about those sets? Some of those sets are god awful with zero chase cards, nothing worth more than $15, with a horrible selection of Pokemon. Lol, you need to do some research look at every modern vintage set. Sealed is it's own form of collectible now. If there are chase cards the public deem worthy the sets will be more expensive even if the card's prices are nowhere close to sealed prices as proven with every modern vintage and vintage set. By how much and how quickly is really dependent on public perception. Sealed over time, it all goes up in value. The fact this set has 2 chase charizard, looking at previous sets from modern vintage, Champion's Path will be a stellar performer. You can slowly build to that number over the next year buying all for msrp. This ETB can wait but if you can grab it for msrp I would recommend holding onto 10-20 for good measure. Champion's Path ETB - The set will continue to be printed at least another year. The numbers align exactly with the old modern and modern vintage numbers. At $2k the etb's will be worth around $400ish. The chase Charizard in the set means at the 5-6 year mark booster boxes will be worth $500, at the 10 year mark start to push into $2k up to $4k mark. ETB's have eight packs and are being sold for $60. The boxes are pushing $300 or $8.30 a pack. ![]() These have dried up on distributor level as well, we're not seeing loose packs in new supplemental product anymore. Burning Shadows ETB - This set is over three years old, there are no booster box reprints and 99% sure there will never be another wave. This is a very long term hold as are all of our callouts. Try to find one that doesn't have a scratch on the plastic and looks fresh. They're available for $80 for a good deal. That's out of the budget of many so the ETB's are next best thing. There are distributors who know all upcoming reprints months out who've confirmed this. XY Evolutions ETB (Charizard Artwork) - The booster boxes are not being reprinted, they're dried up on a distributor level.Taking that into accord there are three good sets to buy boxes of, but if they're out of budget their etb's are next best thing. The sets that performed best have a chase Charizard or a variety of shining Pokemon. Am starting to sound like a broken record player repeating this but after looking at all of the modern vintage sets up to 13 years old, everything sealed has appreciated in value substantially. ![]()
